Meet the Team

The HR Elephant was set up in 2017 in Newry by experienced HR professional Aine Crilly. Aine identified a gap in the market for supporting cross border businesses working in either or both jurisdictions in Ireland. Since then, The HR Elephant has grown not just to support organisations working cross border but also those working exclusively in Northern Ireland or the UK and organisations working exclusively in Ireland. The HR Elephant now has three locations with its Head Office in the border location of Newtownhamilton and support offices in Newry and Dundalk.

On return Aine joined Deloitte in Dublin as a HR Coordinator before commencing lecturing in Southern Regional College while studying for her masters.

After completing her Masters in HR over two years with two babies aged only one month and eleven months, Aine knew the formal structure of an inhouse HR function would not suit her lifestyle. Starting with referrals from friends and family, The HR Elephant was born in 2017.

Favourite Part of the Job?

I am a real people person – I am passionate about helping others and always have been from a young age.

I get great job satisfaction from educating and enabling business owners on how to effectively lead their team to success. Knowing we are guiding them to success with the right tools and tips, fills my cup right up.

Interesting / one fun fact

I used to play the French Horn in school; let’s just say playing an instrument was not my forte.

Favourite food / drink

One topic that our HERD absolutely love talking about is food:

There are so many I could list – so to name a few:

  • Duck Spring Rolls from the Chinese in Culloville
  • Sunday Kickstart breakfast in Camocha
  • Americano’s from Dr Brew’s
